1. Pink for Christine, 2. The neon lights, 3. Helix High SchoolScottish Drummers, 4. Whoever plays me…, 5. Kiefer, 6. acqua minerale, 7. Arched people, 8. day 73: creme brulee, 9. Author, 10. Las hermanas, 11. what it feels like inside, 12. Project Spectrum Outdoors

I loved this when I saw it on Magpie and again when Kiki did it. It seems it is the physical manifestation of all of the things we try to ascertain about people. If we could, or would compose a snapshot of people. People named Christine who love Japanese food and went to Helix High School. People who love pink and Keifer Sutherland and have to buy Pellegrino in bulk. Who daydream of London and not being diabetic so she could eat creme brulee every day. People who want to be an author who love The Boy the most in the world (which coincided nicely with my love for all things Dia De Los Muertos….I told you I am gothy). Who would use the word empath as an adjective, and craftily flutter by.

We try to understand, to know, to label. To put things in a context to which we can relate. To take the inexplicable and somehow explain it.  I see these things all side by side, and I smile at the beautiful picture they paint and wish my own internal compass could reflect that beauty. To be by manifest the sum of all of the beautiful things I gravitate toward. Not the perversion that I identify with.

For now, I will lay in pink repose and marvel at the good fortune I have amassed, despite my predilection to feel I deserve otherwise.

I wonder if it would just hand me an image saying something like, “Certifiable” and “A-hole”?

Or, “I’m sorry, your request could not be completed as dialed. Please DON’T try again. Goddbye.”

  8. Erin Says:

Hum, I wonder if that is a universal truth, that we all come up short of deserving the wonder that we have and are? I don’t mean it in the Christian way. I don’t work that way. It does seem to me though, for whatever reason, we are offered so much and we don’t always deserve it. We do have those moments, though, when we are good – goodness incarnate – and our cake is delicious and makes our bellies full…(sorry, a little goofy this morning…stomach flu somejow creating winds in my head. Can’t believe I even considered making my belly full today.)

  9. Erin Says:

Nice montage, by the way, I’m almost tempted to do it.

Those are FABULOUS shoes and I love both All Saints Day and Day of the Dead. A couple friends and I used to sort of celebrate them in middle school. And now I sound a bit like a freak, but it was interesting.

Cool! I remember those fantastic red heels you posted in a picture up here one day. I think you would rock the pink.

Oh, I did something like this last year, but with Google Images. It was GREAT fun, as is your posts. I love a picture saying a thousand words for me.

Not that I lack for the words, sadly.
